1/17 6:25 p.m.

Christopher R. Bird, 40, of Van Wert, was arrested on an outstanding warrant issued out of Van Wert Common Pleas Court.

1/18 7:36 p.m.

Jared Alan Smith, 29, of Van Wert, turned himself in to Van Wert Police Department for an outstanding warrant issued against him out of Van Wert Common Pleas Court.

1/22 10 a.m.

Drew A. Kenny, 24, of Lima, was taken into custody at Van Wert Common Pleas Court for an active arrest warrant issued by Van Wert Municipal Court for failure to appear.

1/23 2:36 p.m.

Chad A. Fisher, 41, of Van Wert, was arrested at Thistlewood Apartment complex for an outstanding warrant.

Van Wert Sheriff Office reports

1/13 6:24 a.m.

Harrison W. Oechsle, 25, of Van Wert, was issued a citation for operating a motor vehicle intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, driving under suspension and failure to control following a rollover accident on Wren Landeck Road west of State Route 116.

Delphos City Police reports

On 1-17-2018, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing the registered owner, whose driver’s license is suspended, operating the vehicle. The driver, Robert Harper of Lima, was issued a citation for a license forfeiture suspension and will appear in Lima Municipal Court to face the charge.

On 1-18-2018, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle due to an equipment violation as well as having knowledge that the driver was operating the vehicle on a suspended driver’s license. The driver, Jacob Blanton of Lima, was issued a citation for a non-compliance suspension and will appear in Lima Municipal Court.

On 1-19-2018, officers were dispatched to the 700 block of East 2nd Street in reference to a domestic dispute. Officers arrived and met with a male and a female at the residence. Each stated that no physical violence had occurred. The female left the residence and no charges will be pursued.

On 1-19-2018, officers took a report from a female in regards to a telecommunications harassment complaint. The female told officers that an ex-boyfriend was contacting her against her wishes. The female is in the process of obtaining a protection order and wished to have the incident documented.

On 1-21-2018, an officer on patrol initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing the driver commit a traffic offense. Upon making contact with the driver, Brian Roth of Indiana, it was found that he was operating the vehicle on a suspended driver’s license as well. Roth was issued a citation for a stop sign violation as well as an out-of-state suspension. He will appear in Lima Municipal Court to face the charges.

On 1-22-2018, officers were sent to the 800 block of Skinner Street after receiving an assault complaint. Officers arrived and met with a female. She told officers that a male arrived at the residence and began assaulting her brother. The female attempted to break up the fight and was assaulted by the male. The report was forwarded to the Van Wert Municipal Court Prosecutor’s Office for review of charges.

On 1-23-2018, a female came to the police department to report that her ex-boyfriend had returned to her residence in violation of a no contact order and was threatening her. The female told officers that the male had also grabbed her arm and left bruises. Officers obtained a warrant for the male, Omar Campos of Delphos, and took him into custody. He was transported to the Van Wert County Jail and charged with domestic violence.

On 1-23-2018, a male contacted the police department in reference to an attempted scam incident. The complainant told officers that he received a phone call from another male claiming to be from the IRS. The male told the complainant that he owed them money and advised him to go to the bank to take out the payment. The complainant realized it was a scam and contacted the police department.

On 1-23-2018, officers were dispatched to Stadium Park after receiving a complaint of an assault. Officers arrived and met with a juvenile male. He told officers that he has been having issues with another male, who is 18 years old, over a girl whom they both like. The juvenile stated he was assaulted by the suspect after attempting to walk away from him. Officers have requested a summons from Van Wert Municipal Court for the 18 year old male for assault charges.

On 1-24-2018, officers spoke with a female who stated that her ex-boyfriend had contacted her from Van Wert County Jail, threatening her. The male had been arrested on a domestic violence charge the previous day. Additional charges may be filed against the male pending a review of the incident.

On 1-24-2018, officers proceeded to a female’s residence in the 200 block of South Main Street along with the female’s parole officer, to conduct a search of the residence. Officers found multiple items of drug paraphernalia as well as suspected drugs. During the incident the female claimed to be in need of medical care and was transported to the hospital by Delphos EMS. All evidence was collected and entered at the Delphos Police Department. The female will be facing multiple charges.

On 1-25-2018, officers spoke with an owner of a business in the 100 block of East 5th Street. The business owner wished to report the theft of an item from his business. The incident remains under investigation.

On 1-25-2018, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing the registered owner, whose driver’s license is suspended, operating the vehicle. The driver, Andrew Eagleson of Continental, was issued a citation for an administrative medical suspension. He will appear in Lima Municipal Court.
