  • Ohio raises $20,000 for 4-H

    COLUMBUS, Ohio — For the second year in a row, Ohio 4-H alumni and friends brought home the $20,000 first prize to their local 4-H programs in the National 4-H Council’s Raise Your Hand competition. Ohio raised nearly 18,000 hands through online voting.

    VAN WERT — Chad Kraner, a local teacher from Lincolnview Schools, has been selected as an NEH Summer Scholar from a national applicant pool to attend one of 32 seminars and institutes supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities. The Endowment is a federal agency that, each summer, supports these enrichment opportunities at colleges, universities, and cultural institutions so that teachers can study with experts in humanities disciplines.

Van Wert County residents will still have an outlet for their yard waste and brush free of charge.
