VAN WERT – Temperatures in the area were beyond frigid on Tuesday with wind chills making the air feel as cold as -30 degrees. Unfortunately, the cold is expected to stay for the remainder of the week.

The high for Wednesday is expected to be around 16 degrees with a low around 3. For Thursday, a high of 13 and low of -4 is expected. Wind chills will make these temperatures feel even colder.

In an effort to help citizens warm up, The Salvation Army has opened their doors as a “warming station” where people can enjoy a cup of coffee, tea, or hot cocoa. The Salvation Army will be open as a warming station on Wednesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

People are invited to enjoy some movies and music as they get out of the frigid temperatures.
