'Watch Your Step' at Trinity
Friday, November 09, 2012 7:00 PM
CONVOY - The featured speaker for the 6:30 p.m. Nov. 14 session of WOW! Wednesday will be Norma Pancake from Olympia, Wash. Pancake serves a dual role as the Pierce County Emergency Management coordinator and Emergency Management duty officer.
Her presentation, titled "Watch Your Step," will focus on ways to prevent falls for the middle aged (50+). Falls are the leading cause of fatal injury and the most common cause of nonfatal trauma-related hospital admissions. A growing number of baby boomers fear falling, and as a result, sometimes self-limit activities and social engagements.
Plan to attend this very interesting presentation to find out how to avoid further physical decline, depression, social isolation and feelings of helplessness for yourself, your friends, neighbors, and siblings, and your aging parents and grandparents.
Every 15 seconds, an older adult is treated in the emergency room for a fall.....Don't let this be you......come and learn how to "watch your step."
Free community meals are served at 6, prior to all programming and activities which conclude at 7:30 p.m.
