COA to host program on Medicare

VAN WERT - Yes, for seniors it is that time of year again! Medicare open enrollment begins Oct. 15 and will end Dec. 7. Do not be alarmed and overwhelmed by all of the Medicare information that may flooding your mail box and television screens.
The Van Wert County Council on Aging will host the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP) on Oct. 23 at 9 a.m. Whether you are enrolled now or may be in the future, this is a chance for you to come to the Van Wert Senior Center located at 220 Fox Road to speak to volunteers who will provide are accurate and unbiased information regarding Medicare and Medicare Part D prescription drug benefits.
All volunteers are trained and certified through the State of Ohio to help provide information specific to your particular needs. This includes providing answers regarding all aspects of Medicare, changing your plans, claim issues, or anything else you have questions about.
The session will begin at 9 a.m. with an hour long informational discussion. At 10 a.m., volunteers will begin doing one on one counseling sessions with those interested. The appointments are scheduled to last until 2 p.m.
If you would like a one-on-one session, please sign up by calling (419) 238-5011 or by stopping in the Senior Center to make an appointment. The Senior Center is located at 220 Fox Road.
If you are unable to make this day and time, call the Council on Aging and one of our certified OSHIIP staff members can arrange an appointment at a date and time that meets your schedule.
