GROVER HILL — Wayne Trace Grover Hill Elementary School celebrated the spirit of giving this past Christmas season. For the last few years, the “Free Christmas Book Shop” has been a popular event with the students as well as their families. It has become an annual event that everyone involved has enjoyed being a part of.

Running this event takes a lot of planning and organizing which takes an entire year. Gently used books are collected by donation from individuals throughout the yea . Kids are encouraged to shop for books to give to their siblings for Christmas gifts. The old saying is that “it is better to give than to receive.” This opportunity allows the students to experience that kind of humbleness. PTO volunteers and school personnel enjoy helping the children make their choices as well as wrap their gifts. Watching the student’s select specific books for their specific family members delights the volunteers. This year shoppers picked out and wrapped over 600 books.
