CELINA - A weekend party at a Celina motel resulted in at least four arrests on drug charges. Celina Police Chief David Slusser reported that the department was called about suspicious activity at a room at the America's Best Value Inn Saturday night, Nov. 10.
Officers found that the room was registered to Lonnie Spence, 21, Celina. Spence's vehicle was located on E. Market St. near the intersection with St. Rd. 703. He was a passenger in the rear seat.

The Celina Police K-9, Officer Ted, checked the vehicle and alerted for the presence of drugs. A small amount of marijuana was found in the car, but Spence was found with more than 30 grams of heroin. Two other passengers in the car, Danny Steen and Jeremy Sholler were held on a probation violations. The driver of the car was not held. Spence was charged with a second-degree felony offense.

Officers then went to the motel room that Spence had rented and found three female suspects inside. Also in the room was marijuana, heroin, and the prescription drug Percocet, as well as a .22 caliber handgun. One of the females inside the room, 18-year-old Alecksa Howell, was found with Percocet pills and was charged with illegal possession. The other two females were juveniles, ages 15 and 16. A report was sent to the Mercer County Juvenile Prosecutor's Office for possible charges. These two were not held, but Howell was taken to the Mercer County Jail.

Police are still reviewing the case in cooperation with the Mercer County Prosecutor, and substances seized are being tested. Additional charges are expected in the near future.
