Tuesday is the last day to register to vote in the Nov. 6 general election. The Van Wert County Board of Elections will be open from 8:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. to allow persons to register to vote or to correct voter information such as a change of address on a registration. Anyone with questions about their registration should contact the Board of Elections Office at (419) 238-4192.
Even though the ballot in Van Wert County has few local races, voters will have choices for U.S. President, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives 5th District, Ohio State Representative 82nd District, three races for Ohio Supreme Court Justice, and 1st District member of the State Board of Education. In addition, two statewide issues are on the ballot, and a renewal levy for Vantage Career Center appears as well.

Early voting has been going on for one week and will continue for the next four weeks. Registered voters may vote at the Board of Elections Office Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. through Oct. 19. Voting hours are extended to 8 a.m. - 7 p.m. from Oct. 22 - Nov. 2.
