VAN WERT - The Van Wert County Sheriff's Office is seeking answers in the case of a young dog that was found shot last week.

According to the Sheriff's Office, a man reported that around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, he returned to his home on Neiford Rd. in southwestern Van Wert County and found that his dog had been shot through the muzzle. The eight-month-old German Shepherd was taken to an animal clinic in Decatur, Indiana, but because of the animal's injuries it had to be euthanized.
