VAN WERT - On Feb. 5, 2013, The Ohio Statewide Development Corporation (OSDC) awarded Van Wert Citizens National Bank President Patrick Ryan as one of two people recognized as OSCD Lender of the Year.

"It was quite a surprise," said Ryan. "I have worked very hard with clients of the bank by utilizing the SBA 504 Program." The OSDC's fiscal year runs from Oct. 1- Sept. 30. Following this period, OSDC looks at the loans that have been approved during the previous fiscal year and those individual lenders with the most loans that have been approved are named with this special honor.

"Pat Ryan and Citizens Bank have been good friends and supporters of OSDC and our loan programs for over ten years," said OSDC Executive Director Dianne Allen. "We certainly want to recognize that as well."

Ryan earned his business degree from Wright State University. He also attended the Ohio School of Bank and Commercial Credit and the Mellon Concentrated School of Banking.

Ryan has built up 35 years of experience in the banking industry with the last 12 of those years serving as the market president for the Van Wert office of Citizens National Bank.

"I also try to stay active in the Van Wert community and give back as much as I can," noted Ryan. In 2011, Ryan also received the Van Wert County Volunteer of the Year Award for his leadership role in the community. Along with his corporate responsibilities, he is also an active member of the Van Wert County Parks Department, the Economic Development Advisory Group, the Junior Achievement board, the Salvation Army Board, and the Wright State Lake Campus Foundation Board.
