It took three hours, but a 68-year-old man was rescued from a grain bin at 6857 Gilliland Road in Van Wert County on Monday afternoon. At about 1:10 p.m., the man was able to call 9-1-1 and at that point, the corn was up to his chest. Scott Volunteer Fire Department and EMS and Van Wert Fire Department worked for almost three hours and was able to free the man. He sustained no serious injuries. Also responding to the scene were Van Wert County Sheriff's Department and Grover Hill Fire Department.
