VAN WERT -- Tamara K. Menke, 47, was arrested Friday morning and charged with murder in the death of Barbara Robinson. According to Van Wert Police, there are other charges pending against Menke.

She was apprehended in western Van Wert Countys sometime before 10 a.m. Friday.

Menke was identified in the shooting of Robinson and another person at a S. Fulton St. residence Thursday night. Those shootings took place shortly after 6 p.m. Robinson died of her injuries while being transported to a Fort Wayne hospital.

The 47-year-old Menke was the focus of a search Thursday evening through Friday morning which focused on the western part of the county.

Police received a call just after 6 p.m. Thursday that two persons had been shot at 223 S. Fulton St. in Van Wert. The suspect was said to be a family member of the two victims. That person left before police arrived at the scene. A man and a woman were taken to Van Wert Hospital for treatment and were sent to a Fort Wayne hospital. Barbara Robinson did not arrive in time, but a male victim was also taken. He was described by WANE-TV in Fort Wayne as having a gunshot wound in the thigh. Robinson had reportedly been shot in the chest.

Scanner traffic was overheard which stated that the suspect had emptied a .22 rifle during the shooting, then left the residence. There was no knowledge of any additional ammunition or weapons at that point.

The investigation into the shootings is continuing.
