VAN WERT - Two local men convicted of selling drugs were sentenced to prison on Tuesday in Van Wert County Court of Common Pleas.

Zachary Dominique, 24, Van Wert was sent to prison for nine months on a fifth degree felony charge of trafficking in drugs. Judge Charles D. Steele gave Dominique credit for three days already served in custody and ordered him to pay restitution of $180 to the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force and the Van Wert Police Department as well as court costs.

Jason Vanover, 32, Van Wert was sentenced to 12 months in prison on a pair of fifth-degree felony counts. Vanover pleaded guilty on Oct. 31 to possession of drugs and trafficking in heroin as part of a plea agreement. Five other charges against Vanover were dismissed in that agreement.

Vanover's sentence was actually two prison terms to be served concurrently. Steele granted 48 days credit to Vanover for time already served. He was also ordered to pay court costs.
