VAN WERT - A special Van Wert City Schools Board of Education meeting was held Monday approving a resolution to proceed with the renewal of the school district income tax. The resolution passed five to zero. Van Wert Schools determined it was necessary to bring in annually additional revenues of at least $2,281,000 for the purposes of current expenses. The levy is set to make the one percent income tax continuing as of Jan. 1, 2014. If passed, the current rate of taxation would not increase.
