Timothy Reed of Allentown, PA from Screen Attractions, works on the finishing touches of switching Van Wert Cinemas to 100 percent full digital projection. This includes 3-D movie capability in Cinema 1. As of Tuesday night, Nov. 13, all five cinemas are 100 percent digital. All theaters nationwide are switching to the digital format as 35 mm film is being phased out by Hollywood due to production cost. Theaters will get more consistent, brighter, steady images which do not deteriorate with usage or lose quality over time. There will be an up-charge for 3-D movies and Van Wert Cinemas will be providing the glasses to use for those presentations.
