VAN WERT - Gary Weck and Darryl Ricketts were elected to the Van Wert County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) Board of Supervisors at the group's 63rd annual meeting held Thursday evening at Vantage Career Center.

Both men were chosen for three-year terms on the five-member board. Their terms begin Jan. 1.

Also at the meeting, the SWCD Conservation Award was given to Neate Family Farms. Roger and Brent Neate were recognized at the meeting for their conservation achievements.

Madison Riethman was recognized for receiving the Scholarship Award, and Craig Pohlman received a plaque for five years of service on the Board of Supervisors.

During the program, SWCD District Technician Noel Morris gave a report on conservation programs being provided throughout the district.

The evening's dinner was provided by Grant's Catering. Door prizes were donated by First Federal Savings & Loan, Wells Fargo, Ag Credit, Farm Credit and Baughman Tile.
