WREN - Berniece M. Brittsan, 92, of Wren, died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Woodcrest Nursing Center.
She was born March 28, 1920, in Monroeville, Ind., to the late Frank H. Laudahn and Ethel M. (Van Buskirk) Laudahn.
She married Russell D. "Pete" Brittsan on Nov. 19, 1939, in Monroeville, Ind. He passed away on Sept. 24, 1994.
She was a member of St. Paul Reformed Church of America in rural Van Wert, Ohio.
She was a homemaker. She was also employed at Decatur Industries for a short period of time.
Survivors include a son: Robert A. (Carolyn) Brittsan of Carmel, Ind.; one daughter: Joy J. (John) Schaadt of Convoy, Ohio; five grandchildren: Dr. Angela G. Brittsan, Dirk B. Brittsan, Janeen K. (Brian) Fights, Jolynn (Cory Mountz) Schaadt, Jenifer N. (John) Kryzanowski, and three great-grandchildren: Russell D. Fights, Alek J. Kryzanowski and Aric A. Kryzanowski.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Laudahn, and four sisters, Luella Raber, Lucille Reidenbach, Leota Newport and one who died in infancy.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at the St. Paul Reformed Church of America, rural Van Wert, Ohio. The Rev. Chad Strabbing will officiate. Burial will be in Protestant Evangelical Cemetery, rural Van Wert. Visitation will be 2-5 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur, Ind., and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Preferred memorial is St. Paul Reformed Church of America or Wren EMS.
