CONVOY, Ohio - Dean C. Fralick, 83, of Convoy, died at 5:47 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind.
He was born Nov. 18, 1929, in Wren, Ohio, to the late Robert Lancaster Fralick and Lola Grace (Springer) Fralick.
His wife, Patricia F. (Baker) Fralick, survives. The couple was married May 25, 1952.
Other survivors include: sons: Terry (Judie) Fralick and Clair (Marlys) Fralick, both of Convoy; daughter: Brenda (Brent) Edwards of Van Wert, Ohio; brothers: Gordon L. Fralick of Convoy and Doyt R. Fralick of Lynn Haven, Fla.; eight grandchildren: Timothy Fralick, Jonathan Fralick, Anna Edwards, Hilary Edwards, Noah Edwards, Nathan Fralick, Breanne Frye and Kari Fralick; three great-grandchildren: Victor, Dallas and Michael, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sisters: Yvonne Binkley and Naomi Gallaway.
He was a lifelong farmer and a member of First Baptist Church, Van Wert. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at First Baptist Church, Van Wert. The Rev. Steve Robinson of First Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Military honors will be conducted by the combined posts of the American Legion Post 178 and V.F.W. 5803, both of Van Wert.
Calling hours are 3-7 p.m. Friday at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, and one hour ahead of the service Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church and Gideon's International.
