DELPHOS, Ohio - Fairy Etta Sterling, 89, of Delphos, died at 5:18 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at Vancrest Healthcare of Delphos.
She was born Jan. 25, 1923, in Delphos, to the late Daniel and Opal (Carmean) Cross.
She was united in marriage to George Sterling. He survives in Delphos.
She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, unique woodworking and her flower garden. She loved art and was a very creative and talented artist. She was a member of The Delphos Wesleyan Church. She had worked for Ohio Decorative Products in Spencerville.
Survivors include a son: Richard (Becky) Auer of Delphos; five daughters: Carol (Jerry) Hirn of Delphos, Dianna (Norman) Mullenhour of Kentucky, Shirley (Everett) Hall of Coldwater and Patty (Harley) Duncan and Mitzi (Dave) Huffine, both of Van Wert; a sister: Dorothy Coulter of Delphos; one brother: Roger (Shirley) Diltz of Delphos; two stepsons: Max Douglas Sterling of Dayton and Donald Anthony Sterling of St. Marys; several grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son: Gary Auer, daughter: Sue Ann Kohorst, and sister: Donna Cross.
Services will be on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at 12 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home, Delphos. The Rev. Wayne Prater will officiate. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
