CELINA, Ohio — James S. Bourelle, 69, of Celina, went to be with the Lord at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, at Lima Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Aug. 15, 1947, in Celina, to the late Donald E. and Virginia (Stover) Bourelle. On April 10, 1999, he married Janice Monroe, who survives.

Also surviving are his five children, Mona and Don Sams of Celina, Kim and Todd Morden of Celina, Lindsey Bourelle of Celina, Kyle Bourelle of Van Wert, Stephanie and Alex Nagy of Morgantown, West Virginia; two stepchildren, Michael and Cortney Neely of Van Wert, Mark and Beck Neely of Wamego, Kansas; 16 grandchildren, Zach Sams, Marissa Sams, Megan Morden, Cory Morden, Kaden Bourelle, Kalman Nagy, Collin Heunen, Alexander Nagy, Liam Heunen, Vincent Nagy, Erik Nagy II, Logan Neely, Kyra Neely, Truex Neely, Owen Neely, Cowen Neely; a brother and sister-in-law, Don and Jodi Bourelle of Willshire; sisters and brothers-in-law, Karen and Marc Macrum of Ossian, Indiana, Melanie and Reg Hinchcliff of Grover Hill, Tami and Dorsey Roth of Leo, Indiana, and Lisa and Bob Brister of Willshire.

James was preceded in death by his grandson, Sawyer Neely, maternal grandparents, Wilbur and Bea Stover, and his paternal grandparents, Russell and Alma Bourelle.

James graduated from Rockford High School in 1965. He was employed at Quality Welding and Fabrication in Elida as a project manager for five years. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Van Wert and attended the New Start Church of God in Celina and was a member of the National Rifle Association. James was a wonderful husband, father, brother and proud grandfather. He was a good Christian man who enjoyed hunting, camping and being on the lake on his boat. He was a hard-working, kind-hearted man who enjoyed helping other people.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday Jan 11, 2017, at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with the Rev. John Mobley officiating. Friends may call from 2-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
