VAN WERT, Ohio - Janice A. McMillen of Van Wert died at 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Ind.
She was born June 22, 1948, in Paulding, Ohio, to the late Ruby (Gunderman) Buchman and John Buchman.
Her husband, Kent McMillen, survives of Van Wert.
Other survivors include a child: Erin McMillen of Van Wert; two stepdaughters: Melissa (Tim) Friemoth and Rhonda (Hubert) Perry, both of Van Wert; brothers: James (Pat) Buchman of Paulding, Martin (Mary Ann) Buchman of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Raymond (Linda) Buchman of Paulding; sisters: Mary Laukhuf and Kathryn (Jim) Clark, both of Paulding, and three grandchildren: Wessley Perry, Shae Friemoth and Skyler Friemoth.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Richard and David Buchman, and a sister: Louise Buchman.
She retired from Eaton Corp., Van Wert, after 35 years of service. She was past president of Habitat for Humanity in Van Wert, a court-appointed special advocate for Juvenile Court, and a 1966 graduate of Paulding High School. She was an animal lover and enjoyed helping people.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert. The Rev. Dwight Stoller will officiate.

Preferred memorial is the Van Wert Animal Protective League, Van Wert.
