OHIO CITY - Kelly Brent McConahay, 57, of Ohio City, Willshire Township, died at 5:15 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Van Wert Hospital, Van Wert, Ohio.
He was born Oct. 17, 1955, in Van Wert. His father and stepmother, Daniel J. and Sharon McConahay, survive in Van Wert. His mother, Shirley (Speakman) Couts, also survives in Van Wert.
His wife, Mickey J. (Army) McConahay, survives. They were married Aug. 2, 1980.
Other survivors include his sons: Martin McConahay (and fiancee Valerie Phillips) of Austin, TX, and Casey McConahay of Van Wert; a daughter: Shea Lyn (Nathan) Crass of Fort Mill, SC; one brother: Kaury McConahay of Houston, TX; sisters: Kimberly (William) Torok of Delta, IN, Kristine McConahay of Stroh, IN, Kerry (Jeff) Gudakunst of Grover Hill, Ohio; stepbrother: Mike (Kathy) Priest of Payne, OH; stepsister: Brenda (Jeff) Clark of Paulding, and grandmother: Audrey Jacob of Van Wert.
He had worked at the Ream Steckbeck Paint store in Van Wert, then owned and operated Kelly's Paint and Paper. He currently was operating McConahay Decorating. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Van Wert. He was a 1974 graduate of Van Wert High School.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, Van Wert. The Rev. Gus Christo-Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Calling hours are Monday from 2 - 8 p.m. at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert, and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
Preferred memorial is Wren E.M.S. or the Lupus Foundation of America.
