VAN WERT, Ohio - M. Carolyn Dippery, 92, of Van Wert, passed away on Jan. 9, 2013, at the Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center in Van Wert, Ohio.
She was born on Nov. 6, 1920, in Mason, Mich., to Charles P. and Susan B. (Dunifon) Clark, both of whom are deceased.
On July 7, 1940, she married Richard E. Dippery, Sr. He preceded her in death on Nov. 21, 1993.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Dr. Richard E. (Edith) Dippery of Flint, Mich., and Jeanne (Rev. Thomas) Phillips of Grove City, Ohio; sisters, Pauline Wermer of Van Wert and Josephine (Richard) Ditto of Madison, Ala.; a brother, William (Helen) Wilcox of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; a sister-in-law, Judith Clark of Lutz, Fla.; grandchildren, Kevin (Dawn) Dippery of Virginia Beach, Va., Dr. Kyle Dippery of Lexington, Ky., Kelli (Douglas) Heneghan of Round Rock, Texas, and Christopher Phillips of Columbus, Ohio, and five great-grandchildren, Duncan and Mary Elizabeth Heneghan, and Macee, Emma and Hannah Dippery.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Sara Adams, and a brother, John Clark.
Carolyn was a member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Van Wert for over 60 years. She formerly worked for the Van Wert County Treasurer's office for over 25 years, and served as chief deputy before her retirement. She was a member of the Women's Republican Club.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Van Wert. The Revs. Will Haggis and Thomas Phillips will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home and Crematory, Van Wert, also, one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
Preferred memorials are to Van Wert Inpatient Hospice or St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
