WREN, Ohio – Martha D. Myers, 100-years-old, of Wren, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
She was born on Friday, Dec. 15, 1916 in Van Wert County the daughter of the late Alfred Myers and the late Opal C. (Dudley) Myers.
Martha was a member of Wren Garden Club, Wren Historical Society, GE Retirees, and Wren United Brethren Church. She was also a Sunday school teacher and a piano player at the church.
Her hobbies included gardening, bird watching, letter writing to soldiers in WWII, and reading. Martha loved spending time with her family and friends.
She retired in 1979 from General Electric with 39 years of service.
Surviving are her nephews, Robert (Dianne) Myers of Sebring, Florida & Neil L. Myers of Ohio City, Ohio. She is also survived by many great and great-great nephews and nieces.
Preceding Martha in death were two brothers, James Arno Myers and David L. Myers and two nephews, James A. Myers and Karl Todd Myers.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 15, 2017 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur, Indiana with Pastor Jeff Millay officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Decatur.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, April 14, 2017 in the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home in Decatur and one hour prior to the services on Saturday at the funeral home.
