PAULDING, Ohio — Rev. Donald E. Baer, 84, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017.

He was born Jan. 13, 1933 in Scott, Ohio, the son of Merrill and Sarah (Mason) Baer. On Jan. 25, 1957, he married Miriam L. Bollinger, who survives. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a long time teacher for Paulding Exempted Village Schools, Defiance Jr. High School, and a substitute teacher for Wayne Trace High School. He was graduated from Findlay College and Grace Seminary College and was instrumental with starting Paulding PC Workshop. He was a member of the former Calvary Bible Church, Paulding, Van Wert Calvary Evangelical Church, and Van Wert Post 178 American Legion. He was a driver’s education teacher.

He is survived by his wife, Miriam Baer, Paulding; two children: Lisa (Mark) Mawer, Acworth, Georgia, and Teresa Goodenough, Briceton, Ohio; grandchildren: Dustan, Mitchell, Currey (Whitney), James, Nathan (Sarah) and Corin; great-grandchildren: Ryder, Emma Amelia, and Andrew.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Billy Dean Baer.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding.

Visitation will be 4 – 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8 at the funeral home. There will also be visitation on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
