VAN WERT - Thelma E. Miller, 87, of Van Wert, died at 12:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at C.H.P. Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert.
She was born May 27, 1925, in Delphos, Ohio, to the late Arthur and Cecelia (Kaskel) Kindley.
Her husband, Dr. G. Ken Miller, died May 11, 2008. They were married Jan. 25, 1947.
Survivors include her children: Dr. Timothy I. (Linda) Miller of Ottawa, IL, Kristine I. (Kenneth) Minnich of Van Wert, Kenneth M. (Jane) Miller of Fort Jennings, Ohio, Dr. Dennis J. (Cheryl) Miller and Pamela A. (John) Wannemacher, both of Van Wert; sister: Helen (Charles) Ardner of Delphos; 15 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother: Robert Kindley, and a sister: Ruthella Foust.
She was a graduate of Delphos St. Johns High School and a registered nurse who received her degree from the Good Samaritan School of Nursing in Cincinnati in 1946. She worked in her husband's office and for the American Red Cross including teaching home health care.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Van Wert, and the Altar & Rosary Society.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, Van Wert. The Rev. Stanley Szybka will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert. Calling is Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 10:30 at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert.
Preferred memorials are St. Mary Church, Van Wert County Hospital, or the American Red Cross.
