WILLSHIRE - Veda Ruth Bennett, 95, of Willshire, died at 4:50 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford.
She was born Oct. 10, 1917, in Wren, Ohio, to the late Earl W. Moser and Mary May (Case).
Her husband, Waldo Townzen Bennett, died Jan. 17, 1986. They were married Oct. 28, 1941.
Survivors include a son: Clinton W. (Irma) Bennett of rural Ohio City, a brother: Harry (Joyce) Moser of Wren, and three grandchildren: Douglas (Cindy) Bennett and Justin Bennett, both of Willshire, and Kent (Sonia) Bennett of Beaver Creek, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by a child: Claudette Jane Bennett, a brother: Marshal A. Moser and her sisters: Harriet Krugh, Leona Mae Hunt, Evelyn Rose Gibbs and Audrey Sammetinger.
Ruth was a homemaker, a Bible school teacher and retired from Shane Hill in the late eighties. She was a member of Countryside United Methodist Church and a graduate of Wren High School and Fort Wayne Bible College.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert. The Rev. Wayne Karges will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Van Wert.
Calling hours are Monday from 2 - 6 p.m.
Preferred memorial is Countryside United Methodist Church.
