VAN WERT - Violet L. Wells, 84, died Thursday, Oct. 4 at Colonial Nursing Center of Rockford, Rockford, Ohio.
She was born June 18, 1928, in Kewanna, Ind., the daughter of the late William D. and Anna M. (Cain) Fall.
On July 28, 1948, she married Lynn A. Wells, Sr., who preceded her in death on Aug. 17, 1999.
She was employed by Firestone retiring in 1955 and was an avid NASCAR fan.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth (Susan) Wells of Jonesville, MI, Lynn P. (Judy) Wells Jr. of rural Cecil, and David (Patty) Wells of Paulding; two daughters, Karen (George) Saxton Sr. and Patricia C. Ballard, both of Van Wert; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren, and a brother, Earl (Marg) Fall of North Adams, MI.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Arnold, LeRoy, Wayne and Roland Fall; a sister, Mable Roepcik; grandson, George Saxton Jr., and a great-grandson, Bentley Crowle.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, with the Rev. David Meriwether officiating. Burial will follow in Scott Cemetery, Scott, Ohio. Visitation will be 5:30 - 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8 and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
