PAULDING, Ohio — William “Bill” Clemens, 91, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at Country Inn Enhanced Living Center, Paulding.
was born Jan. 13, 1925, in Paulding County, the son of the late William
J. and Katie L. (Devers) Clemens. On Feb. 14, 1948, he married Margaret
A. Tope who preceded him in death on July 22, 2014.
He was a WWII
Army veteran who participated in the Battle of the Bulge, a lifetime
member of VFW Post 587 and retired in 1988 as a paver operator for
International Union of Operating Engineers.
He is survived by
brother, Peter Clemens of Paulding, and two sons, Randy (Karen) Clemens
of Naples, Florida, Brad (Katherine) Clemens of Paulding; grandchildren,
Dr. Seth Clemens of Missoula, Missouri, Dr. Gabriel (Kimberly) Clemens
of Fishers, Indiana, Ella (Patrick) Thomas of Gypsum, Colorado, Jacob
(fiancé, Rene Huber) Clemens and Adam (Jenny Friend) Clemens;
great-grandchildren, Abigail Grace Clemens and Madelyn Rose Thomas, and
honorary great-grandchildren, Giovan and Yolenny.
He is also preceded in death by a brother, Gordon Clemens.
services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 9 at Den Herder
Funeral Home, Paulding. Burial will be in Blue Creek Cemetery, Haviland.
Visitation will be 2 – 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8 at the funeral home. There
will also be visitation on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made to Church of Christ, Paulding, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
