VAN WERT, Ohio - Winifred R. Ruhlin, 86, of Van Wert, died at 9:05 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at The Laurels of Shane Hill, Rockford, Ohio.

She was born Dec. 5, 1926, in Fostoria, Ohio, to the late Walter and Inez Audrey (Foor) Schaadt.

Her husband, Robert D. Ruhlin, died Aug. 9, 2012. They were married Oct. 31, 1948, at EUB Church in Van Wert.

Survivors include a niece: Charmel Farmer of Charlotte, N.C.; great-niece: Stephanie (Jeff) Daniels and their children JP and Kate; great-nephew: Todd (Amy) Farmer and their child Tatum and also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tracy Ruhlin-Githens on March 6, 2003, and two sisters: Phyllis Nihiser and Alice Farmer.

She owned and operated with her husband, ABC Heating & Plumbing in Van Wert, retiring in 2003. She was a member of Calvary Evangelical Church, Van Wert, and the Mary Circle. She was a 1945 graduate of Van Wert High School and member of the Van Wert Woman's Club.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Cowan & Son Funeral Home, Van Wert. The Rev. W. Clark Williman of Calvary Evangelical Church will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ohio City, Ohio.

Calling is one hour ahead of the service.

Preferred memorial is Calvary Evangelical Church or the donor's choice.
