VAN WERT — The Associated Press announced its All-District teams for the Northwest region on Thursday evening. Voting AP members selected players and coaches for both boys and girls honors in each of the four divisions.
Locally, Crestview head coach Jeremy Best was named the Division IV Coach of the Year and several players earned honors as well.
Three of Best’s seniors at Crestview earned all-distrcit awards, with Damian Helm being named to the first team while Cam Stzler and Tyson Bolenbaugh received honorable mentions. Wayne Trace guard Corbin Linder was a second team pick in Division IV while Spencerville’s Ben Bowman and Linder’s younger brother, Ethan, earned third-team placement.
Lincolnview senior Kyle Williams also received an honorable mention, as did Andy Grothouse of St. John’s.

Van Wert’s Connor Holliday was an honorable mention in Division III along with Guy Harder of Paulding and Jefferson’s Ross Thompson. Parkway senior Brant Barna also earned an honorable mention.
Paulding’s Kyle Kauser was a third-team pick in Division III and Trey Smith, who averaged 21.5 points per game as a sophomore at Jefferson, was a second-team selection.
Among the girls honorees, Van Wert junior Erin Morrow was placed on the Division II second team after leading her Lady Cougars to an 18-4 regular season. Teammate Alexis Dowdy earned an honorable mention.
In Division III, Parkway had a pair of honorable mentions in seniors Sierra Fent and Cami Hellwarth. Fent averaged 11.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game for the Lady Panthers this season whole Hellwarth added 11 points per game.
Lindsey Motycka of Crestview earned a second-team award in Division IV while Lady Knights Emily Bauer and Mackenzie Riggenbach received honorabe mentions. Julia Thatcher, Lincolnview’s all-purpose junior, also earned an honorable mention.
