Crestview grad and current starting guard for the Washington Redskins, Kory Lichtensteiger, will again be holding camps for football players throughout the area.
The Kory Lichtensteiger Football Camp and the Kory Lichtensteiger Youth Football Camp will both be held at the Crestview High School football field on Saturday, June 29.
The youth camp, which will be available to players in grades three through six, will be held from 1 p.m. through 3 p.m. on the 29th.
The offensive football camp, for players entering high school this fall, will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, also on the 29th.
The high school camp is $60 to register and, along with Lichtensteiger, boasts an impressvie list of instructors. University of Toledo head coach Matt Campbell will be instructing at the camp, as well as Washington Redskins strength and conditioning coach Chad Englehart.
Englehart helped condition the No. 1 rushing offense in the NFL in 2013. He will be instructing campers on the secrets of the NFL Combine, including improving 40-yard-dash times, as well ad the pro shuttle and the L-cone drill. Englehart will be teaching football-specific speed and strength training, including improving one's 40 time by .2 seconds.
The camp will also feature instruction from coaches from Bowling Green, Findlay, Bluffton, Ohio Northern, Heidleberg, St. Francis and Defiance College. The camp will be an opportunity for campers to gain exposure to college coaches.
The campers will also have the opportunity to interact with current players from The Ohio State University, Bowling Green State University, University of Toledo and Ball State University.
The camp focus will include individual skill development from college coaches, position training from current college and pro athletes, speed and agility enhancement, exposure to college coaches of all levels and a Division-I quality camp in a small-town setting.
All high school players are welcome regardless of school, and walk-up registration will be available the day of the camp.
The Kory Lichtensteiger Youth Football Camp will be directly following the high school edition. Registration is $30 per camper.
The youth camp offers campers the opportunity to meet and learn from a current NFL player, learn the basics from current college football players, learn speed and agility enhancement, learn techniques and fundamentals from coaches of all levels.
The players will get a T-shirt and autographs from coaches of all levels.
Same-day registration is also available for the youth camp, and all youth players from grades three through six are welcome.
