COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - What's brewing with the 2012 Ohio State Buckeyes ...

BUCKEYES BUZZ: Even when Ohio State takes a Saturday off, Urban Meyer is busy traveling.

He and his wife, Shelley, are heading to a big game in Atlanta - a volleyball game.

Older daught Nicki will be participating in senior night when Georgia Tech takes on North Carolina State on Saturday.

"Can't wait. She's a senior, that's unbelievable," Meyer said. "Her career is winding down, she's a 3.8 (GPA) student, and captain. So I get to watch her play. It's really cool."

Nicki is a libero for the Ramblin' Wreck, which is 16-10 on the season.

Meyer has a couple of years before younger daughter Gigi has a similar experience. She's a sophomore volleyball player on the Florida Gulf Coast team.

RETURN GAME: The Buckeyes were given Friday, Saturday and most of Sunday off. Some of the players are staying close to campus and others who don't live far away are heading home for a visit.

Most will be back in Columbus on Sunday night.

BIG GAMES ON TAP: OK, so you can't watch the Buckeyes. But there are still plenty of good games available on Saturday.

There are three games pitting Top 25 teams: No. 15 Texas A&M (7-2) at No. 1 Alabama (9-0), No. 22 Mississippi State (7-2) at No. 9 LSU (7-2) and No. 13 Oregon State (7-1) at No. 16 Stanford (7-2).

Besides the Crimson Tide and Bayou Bengals, teams in the Top 10 in action include: California at No. 2 Oregon (9-0), No. 3 Kansas State (9-0) at TCU, No. 4 Notre Dame (9-0) at Boston College, No. 5 (tied with Ohio State) Georgia (8-1) at Auburn, Louisiana-Lafayette at No. 7 Florida (8-1), and Maryland at No. 10 Clemson.

The Big Ten schedule finds Purdue at Iowa, Northwestern at Michigan, Minnesota at Illinois, Penn State at Nebraska and Wisconsin at Indiana. Michigan State is also idle.

LEADING NOT FOLLOWING: QB Braxton Miller says the area he's most improved in since his freshman year is being a team leader.

"Coming in last year, I was a young guy," he said. "I really didn't know how to take that (leadership). But this year I'm building on it and I'm getting better at it each and every week."

So how much of that is just getting another year older and how much of it is that Meyer demands that his QB also be a leader?

"Being a quarterback you've always got to be vocal and tell guys, even if they don't like it, what they're doing wrong," Miller said. "Coach Meyer said when they make good plays, just pat them on the shoulder, like, 'Good job, let's keep it up.' If they do something bad, you just have got to keep going to them: 'Hey, man, it's all right. We'll get it the next time. Don't worry about it. I'm going to come back to you' - and help the guys by being a leader."
