VAN WERT – Carolyn Searles and Tommy Searles were both handed sentences with several years of prison time on Friday, July 12. The pair were seen in the Van Wert Court of Common Pleas by Judge Martin Burchfield.

Carolyn Searles, 59, Rockford, was sentenced for two counts of tampering with records, F3, complicity, F3, and engaging in pattern corrupt activity, F1. She was sentenced to 24 months prison for each count of tampering, 24 months prison for complicity, 9 years prison for corrupt activity, all to run concurrent for a total of 9 years prison. Her real estate in Liberty Township is forfeited and awarded to the victim of the ID Fraud for restitution. She was also ordered to pay court costs.

Tommy Searles, 56, Rockford, was sentenced for identity fraud, F3, weapons under disability, F3, engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, F1, and four counts of tampering with records, F3. He was sentenced to 24 months prison with credit for 128 days served for identity fraud, 24 months prison with firearm forfeited to the Van Wert County Sheriff Office for the weapons charge, 10 years prison for pattern of corrupt activity and 24 months prison for each count of tampering with 128 days served for each charge. The identity fraud and the four tampering charges are to be served concurrently; the weapons charge will be served consecutively to the identity fraud and tampering. The corrupt activity charge is consecutive to the weapons charge Searles will serve a total time of 14 years prison, with his real estate in Liberty Township forfeited and awarded to the victim of the ID Fraud for restitution. He was also ordered to pay court costs.

Michael Reichert, 36, Van Wert, was arraigned for aggravated trafficking drugs, F1, aggravated possession of drugs, F1, and possession of drugs, F5. Bond was set at $25,000 cash or commercial surety. Pretrial is set for July 31 at 8 a.m.

Phillip Vickery, 29, Decatur, Indiana, was arraigned for aggravated possession of drugs, F3, possession of fentanyl related compound, F4, two counts of aggravated trafficking drugs, F3, trafficking fentanyl related compound, F4, and possession of heroin, F5. He was released on surety bond with waiver of extradition. Pretrial is set for July 31 at 8 a.m.

Gabrielle Vann, 25, Wren, was arraigned for two counts of aggravated possession of drugs, F3, possession of fentanyl related compound, F4, two counts of aggravated trafficking drugs, F3, trafficking in fentanyl related compound, F4, and permitting drug abuse, F5. Bradley Wilcox, 26, Haviland, was arraigned for improper handling firearms in motor vehicle, F4. He was released on a surety bond. Pretrial is set for July 31 at 3:30 a.m.

Sheila Raines, 39, Van Wert, was arraigned for aggravated trafficking drugs, F2, and aggravated possession of drugs, F5. She was released on a surety bond. Pretrial is set for July 31 at 8 a.m.
