Van Wert City Police reports

2/21 2:02

Brandon S. Hershey, 30, of Van Wert, was arrested for a warrant issued out of Allen County Court of Common Pleas.

2/21 4:15 p.m.

Steven R. High, 63, of Van Wert, was arrested for OVI after an accident in the 400 block of Burt Street.

2/21 9:15 p.m.

Dennis R. Dancer, 49, of Delphos, was charged with interference with child custody stemming from an incident in the 500 block of Shaffer Street.

2/23 6:18 p.m.

Brandi M. Runyon, 26, of Van Wert, was arrested and charged with two counts of felony assault on a police officer.

2/23 10:10 p.m.

Jeromy Gonzales, 38, of Paulding, was charged with possession of marijuana after a traffic stop in the 800 block of North Washington Street.

2/24 3:25 p.m.

Cody Victor Lippi, 28, of Van Wert, was charged with domestic violence, possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia after an altercation in the 500 block of North Race Street.

2/25 4:16 a.m.

Genaro Castillo Tovar, 43, of Van Wert, was arrested for being in physical control of a vehicle intoxicated and open container of alcohol. Paul Edwin Anderson, 41, of Defiance, was also charged with open container.

2/25 5:20 a.m.

Jared W. Shaffer, 19, was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana paraphernalia.

2/25 3:29 p.m.

Rex Allan Keysor, 48, of Van Wert, was cited for DUS and possession of drug abuse instruments following a traffic stop at the American Legion.

2/26 2:24 p.m.

Milo B. Holt Jr., 19, of Van Wert, was arrested for trespassing stemming from an incident at 751 N. Washington St.

2/26 4:45 p.m.

Thomas E. West, 54, of Middle Point, was arrested at Walmart for a felony warrant issued out of Van Wert Common Pleas Court.

2/27 2:30 a.m.

Kurt Von Strukamp, 54, of Madison, Indiana, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office reports

2/18 1:57 a.m.

Austin T. Northgraves, 20, of Scarborough, Maine, was charged with underage consumption.

Colin A. Emery, 18, of Saratoga Springs, New York, was charged with underage consumption and open container.

Ethan C. Crabtree, 18, of Oak Hill, Ohio, was charged with underage consumption and open container

Scott M. Rau, 43, of Scott, was charged with driving under suspension and OVI.

Delphos City Police reports

On 2-19-2018, officers responded to a business in the 200 block of Elida Road to investigate a theft incident. Officers found that items were stolen from the business and received video surveillance of the incident. Officers made contact with the female suspected of the theft and located the items that were taken. The female, 29 year old Ashley Cottrill of Delphos, was issued a summons to appear in Lima Municipal Court to face the charge of theft.

On 2-21-2018, officers were dispatched to the 600 block of South Main Street to locate a male that had a warrant out of Allen County for contempt of court. Officers arrived and located the male, 36 year old Paul Crichfield of Delphos. Crichfield attempted to flee from officers and after a brief physical altercation he was taken into custody. He was transported to jail on the outstanding warrant and will face an additional charge of resisting arrest.

On 2-23-2018, officers were sent to the 400 block of South Canal Street in reference to a possible burglary incident. Officers arrived and spoke with a female resident. She stated that a male known to her arrived at her residence, but she refused to let him in. The male then damaged the door and came inside the residence. The male, identified as 32 year old Joshua Finfrock of Cecil, Ohio, was met by another male, already inside the residence, and was forced out the front door. Finfrock then slashed a tire on the male’s vehicle before getting in his car and driving away. A short time later officers were able to locate Finfrock’s vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on him. Finfrock was taken into custody and transported to the Van Wert County Jail. He will appear in court on multiple charges including burglary, aggravated menacing and criminal damaging.

On 2-23-2018, officers spoke with a female at the police department who wished to report a telecommunications harassment incident. The female told officers that she received threatening text messages on her phone.

On 2-23-2018, officers responded to the 1100 block of South Bredeick Street to investigate a theft incident. Officers met with a female at her residence and found that items were taken from inside. The female believed that the items were taken by a family member. The incident remains under investigation.

On 2-23-2018, officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle after finding information that the driver, Jared Smith of Findlay, was operating the vehicle on a suspended driver’s license. Smith was issued a citation and will appear in Lima Municipal Court.

On 2-24-2018, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Superior Street to investigate a possible domestic violence incident. Officers arrived and met with a male and his father. Each gave officers a statement on how the altercation began. After speaking with each person it was decided that neither wished to pursue charges.

On 2-25-2018, officers spoke with employees at a business in the 1100 block of Elida Avenue in reference to a theft of merchandise. The employee told officers that a male had concealed items and then left the business without paying. Officers reviewed the surveillance video and identified the juvenile male. Charges were forwarded to the Allen County Juvenile Court for theft.

On 2-25-2018, an officer on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle after observing that it was being operated on an expired registration. Officers made contact with the female driver, 34 year old April Zamora of Delphos, and found that she was operating the vehicle on a suspended driver’s license as well. Officers conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered multiple items of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse instruments. Officers also located suspected marijuana in the vehicle as well. Zamora will appear in Lima Municipal Court to face multiple charges.

On 2-26-2018, officers were sent to a business in the 1100 block of Elida Avenue in reference to a theft of gasoline. Officers arrived and spoke with employees and reviewed surveillance video. The vehicle owner, who lives in Ottoville, was identified and contacted. Charges of theft will be filed in Lima Municipal Court and a summons will be served on the male as soon as it is issued.
