VAN WERT – The following cases were seen in the Van Wert Court of Common Pleas by Judge Martin Burchfield:

WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2019

ARRAIGNMENTS (all entered not guilty pleas)

Amber Owens, 34, Van Wert, was arraigned for tampering with evidence, F3, possession of cocaine, F1, and illegal manufacture of drugs, F2. His bond was set at $25,000 cash or commercial surety. Pretrial was set for Jan. 22, 2020, at 8 a.m.

Leiayre Freeman, 26, Lima, was arraigned for possession of cocaine, F1, illegal manufacturing of drugs, F2, and tampering evidence, F3. Bond was set at $25,000 cash or commercial surety. Pretrial was set for Dec. 18 at 8 a.m.

Danny Felger, Jr., 56, Ohio City, was arraigned for retaliation, F3. Bond was set at $100,000 cash or commercial surety. Pretrial was set for Dec. 20 at 9:30 a.m.

Tate Arnold, 37, Van Wert, was arraigned for aggravated trafficking drugs, F3, trafficking cocaine, F5, aggravated possession drugs, F3, and possession fentanyl-related compound, F5. He was given a surety bond. Pretrial was set for Jan. 7, 2020, at 1 p.m.

Christina Hemker, 31, Fort Jennings, was arraigned for receiving stolen property, F4, failure to comply with order of police officer (fleeing), F3, and OVI, M1. Bond was set at $50,000 cash or commercial surety. Pretrial was set for Jan. 22, 2020, at 8 a.m.

Nathaniel Thomas, 41, Van Wert, was arraigned for domestic violence, F3. He was given a surety bond with and order to have no contact with the victim except for matters about a mutual child. Pretrial was set for Jan. 22, 2020, at 8 a.m.

Kenneth Dunaway, 46, Van Wert, was arraigned for possession of drugs, F5. He was given a surety bond. Pretrial was set for Jan. 29, 2020, at 8 a.m.

Charles Miller, 64, Van Wert, was arraigned for theft from a person in a protected class, F2. He was given a surety bond. Pretrial was set for Dec. 18, at 11 a.m.

Korbin Taylor, 21, Van Wert, was arraigned for possession of heroin, F5. He was given a surety bond. Pretrial was set for Jan. 8, 2020, at 8 a.m.

April Ladd, 38, Convoy, was arraigned for aggravated possession drugs, F3, She was given a surety bond on this case (in prison on other charges). Pretrial was set for Jan. 29, 2020, at 8 a.m.

Adam Stripe, 42, Van Wert, was arraigned for theft, F5, and identity fraud, F4. He was given a surety bond. Pretrial was set for Jan. 22, 2020, at 8 a.m.

Mark Eberle, 41, Van Wert, was arraigned for OVI, F4, and driving under suspension, an unclassified misdemeanor. He was given a surety bond, with an order of no driving. Pretrial was set for Jan. 29, 2020, at 8 a.m.

Christina McClure, 30, Van Wert, was arraigned for aggravated possession drugs, F3, possession of fentanyl compound, F5, complicity to aggravated trafficking drugs, F3, and permitting drug abuse, F5. She was given a surety bond. Pretrial was set for Jan. 22, 2020, at 8 a.m.

TIME WAIVER

Alexandria Fletter, 21, Van Wert, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare. Pretrial was set for Jan. 29, 2020, at 8 a.m.

CHANGES OF PLEAS

Phillip Graves, 26, Van Wert, failure to register as a sex offender, F4. The Court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for Jan. 28, 2020, at 8 a.m.

SENTENCINGS

Troy Terhark, 55, Lima, was sentenced for theft, M1. He was sentenced to 90 days jail, with credit for 26 days, and was ordered to pay restitution of $350 to Brickner's. He was also ordered to pay costs and partial appointed counsel fees.

Jerry Spurr, 51, Van Wert, was sentenced for aggravated possession drugs, F5. He was sentenced to 70 days jail, with credit for 59 days served. He was also ordered to pay costs and partial appointed counsel fees.

Joshua Carroll, 32, Van Wert, was sentenced for two counts of aggravated trafficking of drugs, F4. He was sentenced to three years community control, 60 days jail beginning Dec. 27 at 9 a.m., with work release if qualified, 30 additional days jail at later date, 200 hours community service, ordered to have no illegal drugs, no drugs without prescription, and no alcohol. He also must go through substance abuse and mental health assessment and treatment and two years intensive probation. He was ordered to pay costs.

Jeremy Nielsen, 40, Ohio City, was sentenced for vandalism, F5. He was sentenced to 90 days jail, with credit for 50 days, ordered to pay restitution to JerrDan of $3,001 and to the State Fire Marshall of $448.26. He was also ordered to pay costs and partial appointed counsel fees.
