VAN WERT — The following individuals appeared before Judge Martin Burchfield in Van Wert County Common Pleas Court:

Thursday, April 18

CHANGE OF PLEA

Travis Gaskill, 29, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to having weapons under disability, a felony 3. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for May 30.

ARRAIGNMENT

Eric Gibson, 31, Delphos, entered a plea of not guilty to trafficking heroin, a felony 4; two counts of aggravated trafficking drugs, each a felony 3; and possession of drugs, a misdemeanor 1. He was released on a surety bond with a waiver of extradition and pretrial set for May 10.

Monday, April 22

CHANGE OF PLEA

Candice Huffman, 33, Van Wert, entered a plea of guilty to a Prosecutor’s Bill of Information charging her with trespass in a habitation, a felony 4; and theft of drugs, a felony 4, before her jury trial was to begin Monday. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for May 22.

Wednesday, April 24

CHANGE OF PLEA

Corey Wright, 19, Kalamazoo, Michigan, changed his plea to guilty to possession of marijuana, a felony 5. He was then sentenced to 13 days jail with credit for 13 days served. He was also ordered to pay costs and partial appointed counsel fees.

VIOLATIONS

Andrew Taylor, 33, Van Wert, admitted to violating his probation by failing to report for drug screens, failing to report to probation and failing to complete his required assessments. He was sentenced to 120 days jail with credit for 39 days served. The court will consider treatment after 60 days served from today.

SENTENCINGS

Michael Imler, 39, Ohio City, endangering children, a misdemeanor 1. Sentenced to: two years community service, one year intensive probation, 90 days jail suspended, $1,000 fine suspended, 30 days jail at later date, 50 hours community service and was ordered to pay monthly probation fee, costs and partial appointed counsel fees.

Kasey Schisler, 30, Van Wert, possession of drugs, a felony 5. Sentenced to: 90 days jail with credit for eight days served and was ordered to pay costs and partial appointed counsel fees.

Sean Ramos, 25, Van Wert, domestic violence, a misdemeanor 1; attempted tampering with evidence, a felony 4; and theft, a misdemeanor 1. Sentenced to: Tampering: 17 months prison; domestic violence: 180 days jail; and theft: 180 days jail. All concurrent, credit on each case for 102 day served. He was also ordered to pay court costs.

JUDICIAL RELEASE HEARING

David Kreig, 26, Van Wert, was granted judicial release from prison and placed him on three years community control, up to six months WORTH Center, 30 days jail at later date, 200 hours community service, substance abuse assessment and treatment, two years intensive probation and was ordered to pay costs and monthly probation fee.
