VAN WERT – The following cases were seen in the Court of Common Pleas by Judge Martin Burchfield:



Christopher Knuth, 34, Middle Point, changed his plea to guilty to failure to provide his address as a registered sex offender, F5. The Court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for April 24, 2019, at 9 a.m. He was released on a surety bond.

Timothy Lakey, 36, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to domestic violence, M1, reduced from F4. Sentencing was set for April 24, 2019, at 9 a.m. and he was released on surety bond.


William Wellek, 60, no permanent address, entered a not guilty plea to tampering with evidence, F3, and vandalism, F5. Pretrial was set for April 3, 2019, at 9 a.m.


Benjamin McIntosh, 43, Delphos, was sentenced for possession of cocaine, F5. He was sentenced to three years community control, two years intensive probation, 30 days jail at a later date, no alcohol, no drugs without a prescription, substance abuse and mental health evaluations and treatment, and ordered to pay monthly probation fee, partial appointed counsel fees, and costs.

Ryan Churchwell, 42, Van Wert, theft, M1. He was sentenced to 90 days jail, ordered to pay restitution to a business of $1,972.53 and $10 to a victim. He was also ordered to pay partial appointed counsel fees plus court costs.
