VAN WERT – The following cases were seen by Judge Martin Burchfield in the Van Wert Court of Common Pleas:

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2019

CHANGE OF PLEA

Anthony Sexton, 54, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to robbery, F2. He was then sentenced to five years prison with credit for 381 days served, and also ordered to pay court costs.

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28, 2019

BOND VIOLATION

Stacy Young, 42, Van Wert, admitted to violating her bond by failing to report to probation. New bond set at $20,000 cash or commercial surety and pretrial set for March 5, 2019, at 8 a.m.

FRIDAY, MARCH 1, 2019

TIME WAIVER

Randy Parker, 38, Van Wert, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare his cases. Pretrial was set for March 15, 2019, at 8 a.m.

MONDAY, MARCH 4, 2019

CHANGE OF PLEA

Kasey Schisler, 30, Van Wert, changed is plea to guilty to possession of drugs, F5. The Court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for April 17, 2019, at 9 a.m.

TUESDAY, MARCH 5, 2019

CHANGE OF PLEA

Stacy Young, 42, Van Wert changed her plea to guilty to complicity to aggravated trafficking drugs, F4. The Court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for April 17, 2019, at 9 a.m.

TIME WAIVER

David Seibert, 26, Van Wert, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 6, 2019

CHANGES OF PLEA

Adam Partin, 26, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to possession of fentanyl related compound, F5. He was then sentenced to 180 days jail beginning May 17, 2019, (after his current Municipal Court sentence). He was given credit for 6 days served, and ordered to pay partial appointed counsel fees plus court costs.

SENTENCING

Samantha Lacy, 26, Van Wert, was sentenced for aggravated possession of drugs, F5. He was sentenced to five years community control, up to six months WORTH Center, 200 hours community service, 30 days jail at later date, substance abuse and mental health assessment and treatment, three years intensive probation, and ordered to pay court costs, partial appointed counsel fees plus monthly probation fee. She was remanded to jail until WORTH Center.

VIOLATIONS

Destiny Ramos. 22, Van Wert, admitted to violating her probation by having a positive drug test. He was sentenced to five years community control from Dec. 20, 2018, under same conditions plus 180 days jail unless in treatment program as recommended by Westwood. She was given credit for 61 days served.

Damian White, 29, Lima, admitted to violating his bond by failing to report. Bond set at $20,000 cash or commercial surety and pretrial set for March 13, 2019, at 8 a.m.

Ryan Churchwell, 42, Van Wert, admitted to violating his bond by failing to report. Bond set at $25,000 cash or commercial surety and trial set for April 8, 2019

TIME WAIVER

Danny Mullins, 61, Van Wert, signed a time waiver in open court and requested a continuance of trial scheduled for April 1. New trial date to be set.

ARRAIGNMENT

Samuel Hyndman, 29, Fort Wayne, Indiana, entered a not guilty plea to burglary, F3 and trespass in habitation, F4. He was released on a surety bond with a waiver of extradition and a pretrial was set for March 27, 2019, at 8 a.m.
