VAN WERT – The following cases were seen in the Court of Common Pleas by Judge Martin Burchfield:

FRIDAY, MARCH 29, 2019

BOND/TIL VIOLATION

Zachariah Germann, 31, Van Wert, admitted to violating his bond and his treatment in lieu program by testing positive for illegal drugs. He was sentenced to continue his treatment in lieu program for a new one year period from today.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3, 2019

ARRAIGNMENT

Timothy Taylor, 36, Van Wert, entered a not guilty plea to forgery, F5, and passing bad checks, M1. He was released on a surety bond with pretrial on April 17, 2019, at 9 a.m.

TIME WAIVER

Tyler Dunn, 28, Van Wert, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare his case. A pretrial was set for April 24, 2019.

CHANGES OF PLEA

Dillon Nihiser, 23, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to theft, F5, and aggravated possession of drugs, F5. He then requested and was granted intervention in lieu of conviction and his case was stayed pending completion of the treatment program.

William Wellek, 60, no address given, changed his plea to guilty to vandalism, F5. A companion charge of tampering with evidence was dismissed by prosecutors for his plea. He was then sentenced on this charge as well as a previous charge.

Ryan Miller, 29, Lima, changed his plea to guilty to theft, F5. The Court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for May 15, 2019, at 9 a.m.

Kyle Goodwin, 30, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to two counts of aggravated trafficking drugs, F4. The Court ordered further pretrial on April 17, 2019, at 9 a.m.

Cody Lippi, 29, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, F5. He then requested and was granted intervention in lieu of conviction and his case was stayed pending completion of the treatment program.

Jeffery Adam Craft, 35, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to possession of cocaine, F5, and possession of heroin, F5. The Court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing.

VIOLATIONS

Jacob Cowan, 22, Scott, admitted to violating his probation by failing a drug test, failing to report to probation and failing to appear for evaluation for drug court. Sentenced to 180 days jail with credit for 152 days served.

SENTENCINGS

Nicole Conn, 42, Van Wert, was sentenced for possession of heroin, F5, possession of cocaine, F5, and aggravated possession of drugs, F5. She was sentenced to three years community control, up to six months WORTH Center, 200 hours community service, 30 days jail at later date, seek employment after WORTH, substance abuse assessment and treatment, two years intensive probation, and was ordered to pay monthly probation fee, partial appointed counsel fees and costs.

Devin Walsh, 20, Ohio City, was sentenced for possession of marijuana, F5. He was sentenced to two years community control, one year intensive probation, and 30 days jail at later date. He was also ordered not use alcohol or any drugs without prescription, substance abuse and mental health assessments, and ordered to pay monthly probation fee, partial appointed counsel fees, and court costs.

Shawn Clouatre, 25, Convoy, was sentenced for possession of heroin, F5. He was sentenced to three years community control, up to 6 months WORTH Center, 200 hours community service, 30 days jail at later date, ordered to seek employment after WORTH, substance abuse and mental health assessments and treatment, three years intensive probation, and ordered to pay monthly probation fee, partial appointed counsel fees, and costs.

Virginia Schrader, 29, Van Wert, was sentenced for aggravated trafficking drugs, F3, aggravated trafficking drugs, F4, and permitting drug abuse, F5. She was sentenced to trafficking, F3: 36 months prison with credit for 120 days served; trafficking, F4: 18 months prison with credit for 120 days served; and permitting, F5: prison 12 months with credit for 120 days served, all concurrent. She was ordered to pay costs and the vehicle involved was forfeited to West Central Ohio Task Force.

William Wellek, 60, no address given, was sentenced for vandalism, F5, and receiving stolen property, F4. He was sentenced to 17 months prison for receiving with credit for 125 days served, 12 months prison for vandalism with credit for 94 days served, concurrent, and ordered to pay court costs.

HEARING

Colby Black, 35, Ohio City, had his bond modified to a surety bond with electronic house arrest and an order to have no contact with victims. A pretrial was set for April 17, 2019, at 9 a.m.
