VAN WERT – The following cases were seen in the Court of Common Pleas by Judge Martin Burchfield:

THURSDAY, DEC. 18, 2018

TIME WAIVER

Oscar Barrios, 29, Edgerton, aggravated vehicular homicide, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare his case. Pretrial was set for Feb. 14, 2019, at 10 a.m.

CHANGE OF PLEA

Thomas Norman, II, 56, Wren, changed his plea to Guilty to an amended charge of Illegal Cultivation of Marijuana F5. He then requested, and was granted, Intervention in Lieu of Conviction and his case was stayed pending completion of the treatment program.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 19, 2018

CHANGE OF PLEA

Cody Robbins, 29, Fort Wayne, changed his plea to guilty to carrying a concealed weapon, M1 and driving under suspension, M1. He was then sentenced to one year community control, one year intensive probation, and ordered to pay partial appointed counsel fees, monthly probation fee, and court costs. His brass knuckles and hand gun were forfeited.

Christina Donate McClure, 29, Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to attempted aggravated possession of drugs, M1, (reduced from aggravated possession of drugs, F5.) She was then sentenced to two years community control, 30 days jail at a later date, 50 hours community service, and ordered to pay monthly probation fee, partial appointed counsel fees, plus costs.

TIME WAIVER

Ashley Burk, 30, Van Wert, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare her case. Pretrial was set for Feb. 13, 2019, at 8 a.m.

VIOLATIONS

Milo Holt, Jr., 20, Van Wert, admitted violating his probation by refusing the WORTH Center treatment and signing himself out of the program. He was sentenced to 180 days jail with credit for 15 days served. His work release denied.

SENTENCINGS

Jesse Hodgson, 31, Delphos, was sentenced for trespass in habitation, F4, burglary, F2. He was sentenced to prison for 18 months for trespass case, credit for 503 days served, prison for four years in burglary case, credit for 139 days served, concurrent, and ordered to pay court costs.

Christopher Stemen, 34, Van Wert, grand theft motor vehicle, F4, failure to register as sex offender, F4. Sentenced to 17 months prison on each count, concurrent, credit for 64 days served. He was ordered to pay court costs and restitution to victim of $275.
