PAULDING – Documents were filed recently in Paulding County Common Pleas Court requesting intervention in lieu of conviction for a former public employee accused of theft in office.

It is alleged that Coral Fetzer stole over $10,000 from the Paulding County Soil and Water Conservation while she was employed there as business administrator.

Fetzer, 37, of Van Wert, was indicted last October by a county grand jury for theft in office (F3) and tampering with records (F5).

A motion was filed on Jan. 28 for an intervention in lieu of conviction hearing. Through counsel, Fetzer stated that drug or alcohol usage as well as mental illness was a factor in the events leading up to the charges.

Fetzer will undergo an assessment to determine her eligibility for intervention. Another hearing was set for March 11.
