ROCKFORD – Zachary H. Haney, 35, of Rockford, was arrested after police were called to 218 W. Market St. at 4:55 a.m. on Friday. Officers were advised by a female that Haney was outside her door with a gun threatening her boyfriend.

Upon arrival to the scene, Rockford Police Chief Paul May and Mercer County Sheriff Deputies located a male that was very agitated and uncooperative. Officers attempted to detain and identify the male. The male was intoxicated and refused to give his name.

Officers where able to detain Zachary H. Haney, 35, of Rockford. Haney has a outstanding warrant out of Mercer County and did resist arrest.

Also located in the area was a .25 caliber handgun and drugs.

Haney was transported to the Mercer County Jail and is being held on the Warrant.
