VAN WERT – The following cases were seen in the Van Wert Court of Common Pleas by Judge Martin Burchfield:

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2019

VIOLATIONS

Nicole Cooper, 36, Van Wert, admitted to violating her probation by failing a drug test. Sentencing was set for Feb. 13, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. Bond was set at $10,000 cash or commercial surety.

Frederick Murray, 33, Delphos, admitted to violating his probation by failing to report to probation. He was then sentenced to 180 days jail with credit for 14 days served.

Spencer Davis, 27, Van Wert, admitted to violating his probation by testing positive for meth and heroin. Sentencing was set for Feb. 13, 2019, at 9:30 a.m. Bond was set at $10,000 cash or commercial surety.

TIME WAIVER

Thomas Rupert, 64, Van Wert, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare his case. A pretrial was set for March 6, 2019, at 8 a.m.

DRUG COURT

Two drug court participants successfully graduated from the program today.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2019

CHANGE OF PLEAS

Alisha Elder, 40, Columbus, changed her plea to guilty to theft, M1. She was then sentenced to two years community control, one year intensive probation, 90 days jail suspended. She was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine, $500 suspended, and ordered to 30 days jail at later date. Restitution was already paid. She was also ordered to pay fines, costs and partial appointed counsel fees.

Jennifer Wilder, 44, Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to theft, F5. The court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for March 13, 2019, 9 a.m.

Nicole Conn, 42, Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to possession of heroin, F5, possession of cocaine, F5, and aggravated possession of drugs, F5. She then requested and was granted Intervention in lieu of conviction and her case was stayed pending completion of the treatment program.

Jualina Dull, 31, Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to attempted aggravated trafficking drugs, F5 (reduced from F4 aggravated trafficking drugs, F4). She then requested and was granted intervention in lieu of conviction, and her case was stayed pending completion of the treatment program.

Shawn Clouatre, 25, Convoy, changed his plea to possession of heroin, F5. He then requested and was granted intervention in lieu of conviction and his case was stayed pending completion of the treatment program.

Kayla Lee, 31, Van Wert, changed her plea to possession of cocaine, F5. She then requested and was granted intervention in lieu of conviction and her case was stayed pending completion of the treatment program.

Michael Protsman, 53, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to aggravated trafficking drugs, F4. The Court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for March 13, 2019, at 10 a.m. He was released on surety bond.

TIME WAIVER

Travis Gaskill, 29, Van Wert, entered a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare his case. Pretrial was set for March 13, 2019, at 1:15 p.m.

Virginia Schrader, 29, Van Wert, entered a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare her case. Pretrial was set for Feb. 27, 2019, at 8 a.m.

VIOLATIONS

Jose Sanchez, 40, Van Wert, admitted to violating his bond by using alcohol and being arrested for OVI. A new bond was set at $20,000 cash or commercial surety. Pretrial was set for Feb. 13, 2019, at 11 a.m.

COMPETENCY HEARING

Zachary Hickman, 22, Delphos, was found competent to stand trial after evaluation by Court Diagnostic in Toledo. Pretrial set for Feb. 27, 2019, at 8 a.m. and his bond was continued.

JUDICIAL RELEASE HEARING

Brandi Runyon, 27, Van Wert, was granted judicial release from prison and placed on community control. She was ordered to be assessed for inpatient treatment and/or drug court.

SENTENCING

Alexander Pardo, 25, Leipsic, was sentenced for possession of cocaine, F4. He was sentenced to five years community control, WORTH Center, 200 hours community service, 30 days jail at later date, substance abuse and mental health evaluations and treatment, three years intensive probation, and ordered to pay monthly probation fee and partial appointed counsel fees plus costs.

Blaine Fromm, 28, Lima, was sentenced for theft, F5. He was sentenced to 121 days jail, credit for 21 days served, and ordered to pay restitution of $4,176, plus costs and partial appointed counsel fees.

Austin Clark, 21, Van Wert, was sentenced for aggravated trespass, M1. He was sentenced to one year community control, 90 days jail all suspended, and $1,000 fine all suspended. He was also ordered to pay costs, partial appointed counsel fees and monthly probation fee.
