VAN WERT – The following cases were seen in the Court of Common Pleas by Judge Martin Burchfield:

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2019

TIME WAIVERS

Ashley Carr, 19, Van Wert, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare her case. Pretrial was set for Nov. 6 at 8 a.m. Bond remains the same.

Alexander Chorvas, 24, Van Wert, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare his case. Pretrial was set for Oct. 16 at 9 a.m. 

CHANGES OF PLEA

Chad Harter, 41, Willshire, changed his plea to guilty to felonious assault, F2. The Court ordered a presentence investigation and set sentencing for Nove. 27 at 9 a.m. 

Joshua Hawk, 42, Montpelier, Indiana, changed his plea to guilty to OVI, F4. The Court ordered a presentence investigation and set sentencing for Nov. 13 at 9 a.m. 

Michael Reichert, 36, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to aggravated trafficking drugs, F2. The Court ordered a presentence investigation and set sentencing for Nov. 20 at 9 a.m. 

Doniven Helm, 22, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to domestic violence, M1. The Court set sentencing for Nov. 6 at 9 a.m. 

Jeremy Dunbar, 22, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, F5. He then requested, and was granted, intervention in lieu of conviction and his case was stayed pending completion of his treatment program.

William Ramsey, 38, Woodburn, Indiana, changed his plea to guilty to breaking and entering, F5. He then requested, and was granted, intervention in lieu of conviction and his case was stayed pending completion of his treatment program.

VIOLATIONS

Caleb Phillips, 19, Van Wert, admitted to violating his bond and his treatment in lieu programs by failure to appear at appointments, consuming intoxicants, failing to complete counseling, possessing illegal drugs, failing to random test, and failing to complete programs. Sentencing was set for Nov. 11 at 9 a.m. He was released on a surety bond.
