VAN WERT – The following cases were seen in the Van Wert County Court of Common Pleas by Judge Martin Burchfield:

FRIDAY, JANUARY 31, 2020

ARRAIGNMENT

Courtney Palmateer, 19, Cincinnati, entered a not guilty plea to counterfeiting, F4. She was released on a surety bond with pretrial set for March 4 at 8 a.m.

CHANGES OF PLEAS

Alexandria Fletter, 21, Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to aggravated possession of drugs, F5, and possession of drug abuse instruments, M2. She then requested and was granted intervention in lieu of conviction and her case was stayed pending completion of the treatment program.

TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2020

JURY TRIAL

Ashley Lewis, 40, Convoy, was found guilty on two of three counts of gross sexual imposition (not guilty on the third count) following a two-day jury trial on Monday and Tuesday. The Court changed his bond to $250,000 cash or commercial surety, ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for March 19 at 9 a.m.

BILL OF INFORMATION

Justin Reiley, 37, Van Wert, entered a plea of guilty to a prosecutor’s bill of Information charging him with unauthorized use of motor vehicle, M1. The Court set sentencing for Feb. 19 at 9 a.m.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2020

CHANGES OF PLEAS

Christina Hemker, 31, Ft. Jennings, changed her plea to guilty to receiving stolen property, F4, and failure to comply with the order of a police officer (fleeing), F3. Sentencing was set for March 16 at 9 a.m.

Samantha Lacy, 27, Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to aggravated possession of drugs (meth), F5. She was then sentenced to 90 days in jail and ordered to pay costs and partial appointed counsel fees.
