VAN WERT – The following cases were seen in the Court of Common Pleas by Judge Martin Burchfield:

MONDAY, JULY 29, 2019

VIOLATIONS

Tera Hernandez, 40, Ohio City, admitted to violating her probation by failing to complete the WORTH Center program. She was sentenced to 180 days in jail on each of her two counts, consecutive, with credit for 87 days served.

Idris Nuriddeen, 44, Van Wert, denied violating his probation by violating condition number eight of the Standard Conditions of Community Control by having in his possession and under his control drug abuse instruments. Court set hearing for Aug. 5 at 2:30 p.m.

TIME WAIVERS

Emily Bollenbacher, 28, Van Wert, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare her case. Pretrial was set for Aug. 21 at 8 a.m.

Brian David Bleeke, 53, Convoy, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare for his case. Pretrial was set for Aug. 21 at 8 a.m.

BOND MODIFICATION

Alexander Chorvas, 24, Van Wert, orally requested a modification of bond to aggravated trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs. The Court denied the request and set pretrial for Aug. 21 at 8 a.m.

SENTENCINGS

Brendan Bergman, 23, Van Wert, sentenced for aggravated possession of drugs, F-5. Sentenced to 95 days in the Van Wert County Jail, credit for 35 days. Ordered to pay Court costs and partial appointed attorney fees.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 31, 2019

ARRAIGNMENT

Dawne Taylor, 54, Van Wert, entered a not guilty plea to aggravated trafficking in drugs, F-3. The Court set bond at a personal surety with a pretrial set for Aug. 21 at 8 a.m.

TIME WAIVER

Michael A. Reichert, 36, Van Wert, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare for his case. Pretrial was set for Aug. 28 at 8 a.m.

CHANGE OF PLEA

Samuel Lee Hyndman, 29, Bluffton, Indiana, changed his plea to guilty to trespass in a habitation, F-4. The Court ordered a pre-sentence investigation and set sentencing for Sept. 18 at 9 a.m.

Troy W. Terhark, 55, Lima, changed his plea to guilty to theft, M-1, The Court modified bond to a personal surety bond and set sentencing for Sept. 25 at 9 a.m.

Jody Baker, 37, Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to passing bad checks, M-1. Restitution was ordered in the amount $1,001.51. She then requested and was granted treatment in lieu of conviction and her case was stayed pending completion of the treatment program. She was ordered to pay costs.

Bradley Wilcox, 26, Haviland, changed his plea to guilty carrying a concealed weapon, M-1, with a specification for forfeiture of a weapon. The Court then sentenced the defendant to one year intensive community control, 30 days in jail at a time to be determined, 50 hours community service, a fine of $500, and ordered him to pay Court costs

SENTENCINGS

Brittany N. Pessefall, 22, Van Wert, was sentenced for assault, F-5. Sentenced to 3 years community control with 30 days in the Van Wert County Jail. Ordered to pay Court costs and partial appointed attorney fees.
