VAN WERT – The following individuals were seen in the Van Wert Court of Common Pleas by Judge Martin Burchfield:

THURSDAY, JUNE 13, 2019

ARRAIGNMENTS (All entered not guilty pleas)

Brendan Bergman, 24, Van Wert, aggravated possession of drugs, F5. He was released on a surety bond with pretrial set for June 28 at 8 a.m.

Eric Shaffer, 43, Van Wert, forgery, F5, and two counts of tampering with records, F3. He was released on a surety bond with pretrial set for June 28 at 8 a.m.

Thomas Losh, 40, Van Wert, improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle, F5. He was released on a surety bond with pretrial set for June 28 at 8 a.m.

Chadd Dailey, 42, Rockford, domestic violence, F4. He was released on a surety bond with a no contact order with the victim except for certain named circumstances.

VIOLATIONS

Conner Townsend-Elliot, 20, Middle Point, admitted to violating his bond and his treatment in lieu program by consuming intoxicants. His treatment in lieu program was reinstated for one year from today.

CHANGES OF PLEA/BILL OF INFORMATION

Jake Byler, 56, Decatur, Indiana, entered a plea of guilty to a prosecutor’s bill of information charging him with OVI, M1 (second offense, high test). Sentencing was set for June 27 at 2 p.m.

TIME WAIVER

Jody Baker, 37, Van Wert, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare her case. Pretrial was set for July 31 at 3 p.m.

TUESDAY, JUNE 18, 2019

SENTENCING

Zachary Hickman, 23, Delphos, was sentenced for aggravated trafficking drugs, F3, aggravated possession of drugs, F3, and illegal conveyance of drugs onto government facility. He was sentenced to 24 months prison for trafficking, 24 months prison for possession and 12 months prison for illegal conveyance, to run consecutive to each other. He was given credit for 252 days served. Defendant also forfeits $270 cash used in the crime to the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force and was ordered to pay court costs.
