VAN WERT – The following cases were seen in the Van Wert Court of Common Pleas by Judge Martin Burchfield:

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10, 2019

ARRAIGNMENT

Jeffery Harmon, 56, Van Wert, entered a not guilty plea to grand theft, F4. He was released on a surety bond and pretrial was set for Dec. 2 at 10 a.m.

SENTENCING

Adam Hector, 32, Van Wert, was sentenced on two counts of aggravated trafficking drugs, F4. He was sentenced to 18 months prison on each count, consecutive, credit for 17 days served. He was ordered to pay court costs and restitution of $250 to West Central Ohio Task Force.

TIME WAIVER

Christopher Carpenter, 19, Decatur, Indiana, signed a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare his case. Pretrial was set for Dec. 20 at 2 p.m. Defendant also requested a modification of his $250,000 cash or commercial surety bond. That bond request was denied and bond remains the same.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2019

PROBATION VIOLATION

Cameron Lyons, 21, Lima, admitted to violating his probation by failing to give probation his current address, and failure to report to probation officer. He was sentenced to 176 days jail, credit for 173 days already served.

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2019

CHANGES OF PLEAS

Jay Yoh, 60, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to improper handling firearm in motor vehicle, F4, and OVI, M1. The Court ordered a presentence investigation and set sentencing for Nov. 27 at 9 a.m.

Johnathan Murphy, 34, Van Wert, entered a plea of guilty to a prosecutor’s bill of information charging him with inducing panic, M1. Sentencing was set for Nov. 13 at 9:30 a.m.

Emily Bollenbacher, 28, Van Wert, changed her plea to guilty to an amended charge of aggravated trafficking drugs, F2 and to aggravated trafficking drugs, F4. The Court ordered a presentence investigation and set sentencing for Nov. 13 at 9:30 a.m.
