VAN WERT – The following cases were seen by Judge Martin Burchfield in the Court of Common Pleas:

Friday, Sept. 28, 2018


Cody Robbins, 29, Fort Wayne, entered not guilty pleas to improper handling weapon in motor vehicle, F4, carrying concealed weapon, F4, carrying concealed weapon, M1, and driving under suspension, M1. He was released on a surety bond with a waiver of extradition, and pretrial was set for Oct. 19, 2018 at 2 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018


Brian Ferryman, 36, Tiline, Kentucky, entered a not guilty plea to theft, F5. The Court set bond at $10,000 cash and set a pretrial for Oct. 17, 2018, at 9 a.m.


Jose Sanchez, 39, Van Wert, entered a time waiver in open court and requested additional time to prepare his case.


Nathaniel Thomas, 40, Van Wert, changed his plea to guilty to a charge of domestic violence, M1, (reduced from F3) The Court set sentencing for Oct. 10, 2018, at 10 a.m.

Megan Miner, 23, Lima, changed her plea to guilty to theft, M1, (reduced from F5.) She was then sentenced to seven days jail, credit for three days served. She was ordered to report to jail on Oct. 8, 2018, at 10 a.m. and ordered to pay costs and restitution to victim of $18.48.
